Let me introduce "Whale Done".
This card I have done for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. We are visiting Fine Art America for today's challenge. I picked this painting for my inspiration piece and you can easily see why.
For my card today I am using Penny Black's Whale Done. I first did the background using Color Burst in Ultramarine Blue on Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper. I wanted the dots mostly for texture in my background.
I then stenciled the background with A Colorful Life Design Big Splash along with Evergreen Bough and Mermaid Lagoon distress oxide inks.
Once dry I die cut the piece using the Pinkfresh Ornate Banner die for the frame using Neenah cardstock. I attached the watercolour background to the card base, then added the frame using foam strips.
For the frame I brushed on the distress oxide inks first with the evergreen bough, then the mermaid lagoon.
To finish the card I stamped one of the whales and the sentiment on the front using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle.
On the inside of the card I die cut just the centre piece and brushed on the mermaid lagoon, then stamped the second whale, with the sentiment that says "Ahoy There".
This card was such fun to make, and I love it too.DISCOUNT CODE at A Colorful Life Design is Kia10
