Meet today's card "Enjoy".
This card took a turn at some point and is completely different from what I had in mind when I set out to do it. Love it when that happens, my inner self takes control.
I am using Daniel Smith watercolours for this card from the 66 Colour Dot card by Daniel Smith, plus a few others.
The background is from my stash, being a print made using my Gel press. I wanted added texture, so I added the cutting from my hemstitch die to the design. To add further texture while keeping the background clean I ran the piece through my paper crimper, something I have not used in at least 10 years!
I very much liked the look once I added the bits of texture.
To continue the image is stamped on Arches cold press watercolour paper. The colours as I mentioned are for the most part from the 66 dot card. Other added colours are the yellow, black and turquoise.
It was also the turquoise I used for splatter on the background. The water in the jug was painted using Ultramarine Blue. The idea came from a vase of flowers that were delivered to me a few years back, the water was a darker blue, the colour added from drops the florist put in the water.
When done with the watercolouring I fussy cut the vase and flowers out as I did not want the beige edging from the paper. I then did light splatters on the flowers using Guaoche and Nuvo Shimmering Pen, and attached the piece to the base using foam squares.
