Create Crafty Memories with Scrap'n Stamp

It is time for the Scrap'n Stamp Crafty Memories Hop.

I decided I would do a journal page, but change it by using stamps and dies. I usually watercolour something in this book that is not related to stamps or dies. For today, I am using stamps and dies on my page, along with Daniel Smith watercolours.

First I would like to get the business taken care of. We have a $50.00 Gift Certificate to one lucky winner which will be drawn towards the end of the month.

Only those who have commented will be eligible for the draw, so be sure to leave your comments and let us know what you think of the hop.

Now back to my journal page. The picture below is my journal. I bought it off Etsy in the UK. It is a beautiful journal, and I will order another when it is time.
Following are the pages I did.
My style is loose abstract water colouring, which is how I kept this double page, telling a story about birds in the garden. Most all of you know, I have a pet bird named CC, so I regularily paint birds.

For my pages the birds are playing, doing their acrobate maneuvers, much like my CC does first thing in the morning. But, the stamp set is called "Love is in the Air". hmmm😉

For my stamping I used VersaFine Clair inks, first doing the branches at the top of the pages. I stamped randomly, not worrying to much if I overlapped anything.
Once all the leaves were in place, I added the bird cage, then the flowers and ended by adding the birds. I then started building the layers, adding colouors to the leaves and the background and contuing until all the leaves were finished.

I then added the hints of blue towards the bottom of the book and stamped in the birds and watercoloured.
Again I added the hings of blue towards the bottom. When all was finished and dried I printed the sentiment using a black Sharpie.

I then stamped the bird for the birdhouse, painted him, then die cut and attached to the birdhouse using foam squares.
To finish I added splatters of the colours that I used throughout my watercolouring. I love splatters, and my watercolour journal pages see them a lot.

I thank you for your visit today. Following are links for those participating in today's challenge. Up next is Annette.

  8. This is a lovely journal page, Kia! I love that you used watercolours! I'm intimidated by the medium myself and always admire projects that use them.
