This is "Flamingo Hello".
As you may have noticed I have been making a lot of background prints lately, and in doing so I have accumulated some left-overs, which are always a good thing.
Rather than throw these pieces away I save them in my bin until I have enough to use in a card design. Many times I have used them inside my cards, but today I opted to use them on the front of my card.
When I trim out a card background for use I take 1/4 inch off of the top and bottom of a print, which leaves me with usable pieces.
I then arranged them on my card front, and decide the length as I glue them in place.
For my Flamingo I stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne, using Arches Cold Press watercolour card, then proceeded to watercolour using Daniel Smith watercolours from my Ultimate Mixing set.
I did several layers of colour on the Flamingo, allowing the layers to dry in between applications. Once I was happy with the look of the Flamingo I die cut the finished bird using the coordinating die.
In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment on the front panel for my card using VersaFine Clair ink in Warm Breeze.
I then attached the panel to my card base using foam tape, then added the Flamingo in place, using foam squares.
I love how this turned out, and that I continue to use my scraps in creative ways.
