Hey Beautiful and Hello Friend

Two cards today, "Hey Beautiful" and "Hello Friend".

Both of these cards I have made for A Colorful Life Designs, using the Potholder Stencil. They are both 4.5 inches square, perfect for a little note card.
I am using the left over ink left on the stencil, from the card I posted on Sunday.  For the card above I spritzed the stencil liberally with water, then turned it over laying it on a cut piece of cardstock.

I let it sit for a few, then put some paper towel on the stencil to soak up any excess and set it aside to dry.

For the background and inside the card I put down Saltwater Taffy on my desk top and spritzed with water. I then laid the bubble wrap in the mix and transferred the print to the card front, doing the same technique on the inside of the card.
I then die cut the first piece using my Spellbinders die. I die cut the sentiment pieces (3 of the beautiful), and the heart. For the heart I dragged it through the left over ink on my desktop, as well as one of the beautiful sentiment dies.

Once everything was dry I added the circle to my card base using foam tape. I then glued the 3 beautiful sentiment dies together using Nuvo adhesive, and attached the heart with foam squares. I glued on the "hey" to the heart, and attached the beautiful using foam squares that I cut to fit. A few gems finished my project.
For the second note card I used the same Spellbinders die. The technique is to spritz the stencil after sponging on all the colours for your main card. Turn the stencil over, laying it on cardstock and wait a few. I like the look when the ink is somewhat faded and pieces missing.

As previously before pulling up the stencil I put some paper towel on the stencil to soak any left overs.
I die cut the sentiment and sponged Faded Jeans on the shadow of the sentiment, then glued on the white sentiment die cut.

To the card base I again used bubble wrap to add the Faded Jeans to the background of both the front of the card and inside the card. I then attached the Spellbinders die using foam tape, and added the sentiment using Nuvo adhesive.

To finish I added a few gumdrops.

  1. These are just beautiful and I also love the look not completely filled in. Much more interesting!
