Meet "Purple Iris".
This beautiful stencil is from A Colorful Life Designs. I so looked forward to colouring it with watercolours for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststamers.com and for A Colorful Life Designs.
Today we are visiting Party Swizzle, where I saw these napkins which inspired me to use the purple for my Iris'. I was leaning away from the purple as it is so common, but that changed.
The stencil is from A Colorful Life Designs, and is one of the stencils I am using for the month of May cards done on behalf of A Colorful Life Designs.
To watercolour I did not use a lot of water when applying the colour, as I wanted to be sure the colour would not seep under the stencil.
Once I was finished using the stencil I then added a little more colour.
Using a blue gelly roll glitter pen I drew around the outside of the stencil, along with the inner wall of the stencil to frame the piece. I then fussy cut along the outside frame.
For my mini slimline base I sponged on distress oxide in Tumbled Glass. It was too light, so I then sponged on Prize Ribbon which I liked much better.
I attached the stencil piece using foam tape and finished with a few sequins.
