Meet "Floral Hugs".
This card is for today's Splitcoaststampers.com Watercolour Wednesday challenge. I am hosting today's challenge and have picked this video for reference.
I only wish I had a cute stamp for this challenge, but alas when it comes to large stamps I have mostly florals. I decided to use this Penny Black stamp called Florescence, which is beautiful for watercolouring.
I kept to a minimal palette using Daniel Smith colours. For the leaves I used Jadite Genuine and Cascade Green, and for the flower I used Quinacridone Coral, a colour I rarely use, with a Cadmium Yellow flower centre. I did splatters using these colours along with white watercolour.
Once the flowers and leaves were dry I added some Cascade Green flowing around the card. There is also a bit on the leaves.
In my mini Misti I stamped the "hugs" sentiment from Honey Bees Look for the Rainbow stamp set using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.
Using Gina K Design cardstock in Soft Stone for my card base I attached the watercolour piece using foam tape. I then attached several gems around the card to finish.
Thank you for joining me today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
