Meet "Holiday Magic".
This card I have done for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoastampers.com. The video for our challenge can be viewed here.
First I taped the piece of Arches cold press watercolour paper which leaves me a natural frame. For this I used ProTape, which I love using for my watercolour cards.
I then painted the gradient of colour using Daniel Smith Phthalo Turquoise and a flat paint brush. I did two coats on the background to get a nice even colour.
For my design I decided on two trees, one done using Daniel Smith Sap Green and the other done using Daniel Smith Jadite Genuine. With both trees I added a touch of Daniel Smith Green Apatite.
To fluff up the trees I used my squirl mop brush, which did a pretty good job.
Once all was dry I attached the panel to my card base of Tonic watercolour card using foam tape.
I splattered with Winsor Newton white Gouache. Using Kuretake Gansai Gem colours I added gold to both of the trees. For the left tree I wanted it damp so the paints would expand when added.
On both trees I used Scrapbook.com Pops of Color in Ruby Glitter. To finish I added the sentiment from Tim Holtz Christmas Labels.
Thank you for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card, as much as I enjoyed making it. A fun and easy Christmas card.
