Meet "Mistletoe".
This watercolour was done for this week's Watercolour Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. It was fun to do until I got to the bow - ugh, that is one ugly bow!
Alas, I was painting towards the end of daylight, so did not take enough time with the bow. But, I did spend some time doing the Mistletoe and am happy with the look.
On Arches cold press watercolour paper I used one colour for the leaves, being Daniel Smith Undersea Green. I made puddles of the watercolour with different amounts of water and pigment for the different shades I wanted.
I too opted for the red berries, using Daniel Smith Alizarin Crimson for the berries and the bow. For the branches I used full strength of the Undersea Green.
Also using the same green I added in the pale green throughout the Mistletoe. I matted the piece with Gina K Design Red Velvet cardstock, and attached this to a Neenah card base.
Thank you for visiting today. I hope you have a great day.
I love the light shading you did behind the mistletoe and your bow is perfect. I don't know that I've ever seen real mistletoe, but this looks real to me. Lovely!
