This is "Joy to the World".
I am posting this card again as I had a mistake on my original upload. I have left the original cards below which have the mistake. I failed to sweep the bottom of the tree for grounding purposes. It does not hang in the air, it does have a place where it is planted. lol
This is "Joy to the World".
It is Watercolour Wednesday time, and this week we are visiting with Diane Antone Studio to paint Christmas Trees the easy way.
I decided to do a fluffy tree, using a #4 Escoda brush and painting on Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper. I did not want the tree too big, as this is an A2 card, so I kept it on the smaller side.
I started with the splatter technique using my brushes for this instead of a toothbrush. Once I had a lot of colour down with the splatters, I began adding the "fluffy" to my tree.
My colours are all Daniel Smith watercolours in Naples Yellow, Sap Green, Deep Sap Green, Cascade Green, Phthalo Green (Yellow Shade), and Jadite Genuine.
I kept adding the branches until I liked the look, but I can see now that I need more of the darker green colour added.
Once all was dry I attached my watercolour piece to a foam background, then attached it all to my cardbase using Nuvo adhesive applied with a foam brush.
I then added the sentiment, which is made using hot foiling, and a bunch of crystal gems.
To the tree top I painted in the star using a Stencil from A Colorful Life Design and Kuretake Pearl watercolours.
I thank you for visiting today. I hope you have enjoyed this Christmas Tree and maybe you will give it a go yourself.
Love this, Kia! It has so much dimension in the center of the tree. I need to get a foiling machine and some dies.
