This is "Your Day".
I was in the mood to do some embossing, and I need some birthday cards to add to my stash, hence today we have just that!
For my background, using Hammermill 100lb cardstock I first treated the paper with my I stamped using VersaMark embossing ink, doing two layers of inking and stamping. I then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
When I do heat embossing I find the Hammermill does not warp like Neenah card does, which I cannot explain. I lay the piece on my glass surface and heat with my heat gun until all is embossed.
I then ink blended with distress oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade and Saltwater Taffy until I was happy with the appearance and let the piece dry before glueing to my Neenah card base.
From Neenah cardstock I die cut the letters from the Tim Holtz Alphanumeric set spelling out YAY x 3. Using Copic markers in I coloured the letters in the same order as the ink blending.
Gluing the letters together I then glued them to the card sitting on the transition line of the colours orange to pink.
On another piece of Neenah card I stamped the sentiment, first stamping with VersaFine Clair ink in Tulip. I did not like it, so I made sure it was dry then stamped over it using Distress Ink in Mustard Seed.
I liked that colour much better, so I attached the sentiment to my card using foam strips. To finish I added sequins in colours to match the card.
I really like how this turned out, and I hope you like it too. Thank you for joining me today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
