February 2023 Release - A Colorful Life Design

Hello all!

It is February 1st, 2023 and that means it is time for the new Release from A Colorful Life Design. I loved this release as you will see from the cards I made. Be prepared, this will be a long post so have your tea or coffee ready.

First up are the slimline cards.

This stencil is "Rolling Road". On Arches cold press watercolour paper I used oxide inks in Blueprint Sketch, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers.

Once the stenciling was done I spritzed the colours straight on which allowed the colours to spread outwards, leaving the panel flat on my desk so the inks would not run.

Using my heat gun I dried the piece and trimmed it for my slimline design attaching it to my Gina K Design cardbase using Art Glitter glue.

I then die cut the 3 cups and once saucer along with the steam and coloured using Copic markers. I glued the mugs down then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair Ink in Blue Belle.

I love this stencil named "Ladder", as it has so many possibilities. For this card I am using 110lb Neenah cardstock for my base and Hammermill 100lb for my panel. Using PinkFresh Studio inks in Mint, Meadow, Emerald and Evergreen I applied the inks starting with the lightest to the darkest.

As I was in the mood for the green colours, I continued, using Pinkfresh Leafy Branch die, which I coloured using Copic markers.

I attached the background to a Neenah slimline cardbase, then using foam squares attached the Leafy Branch. I then die cut an older Pinkfresh sentiment die from the Neenah cardstock and glued it in place over the Leafy Branch.

This is "Shamrock Spray".

To begin this card, using Arches Cold Press watercolour paper I first stenciled the Shamrock Spray using 3 of the Pinkfresh inks again. I then went over the stenciled shamrocks with my paint brush and a small amount of water.

I then added splatters, also using the inks, and set the panel aside to dry. I then die cut the two Shamrocks from Hammermill card and coloured using Copic markers.

To my slimline Neenah card base I matted using Gina K Design cardstock.

This is "Circle Flowers".

For this card I did the background on my gel plate, including another piece for the inside of my card. For this I used Seedless Preserves, Abandoned Coral and Tattered Rose.

I then stenciled on a piece of white Neenah cardstock and die cut with a circle die. Attached the background using Art Glitter glue, and attached the circle die using foam squares.

Stamped the sentiment using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, die cut and attached using foam squares.

Meet "Intricate Diamonds".

For my background I used Antique Linen, Wild Honey and Fired Brick. I then stamped using Penny Black's Berry Bramble along with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black.

For the sentiment I used VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.

This is "Marked Lines".

I wanted the stencil work to be crisp in its colours, so I opted for Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn and Blueprint Sketch.

I stamped the flower and sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne and for a bit of glam added enamel dots to finish.

Meet "Diamond Lines".

I kept this card minimal as I thought it would make a great "just a note" card. I will add a sentiment when I know who I will send it to.

This is using Twisted Citron, Broken China and Lucky Clover. I stamped the flower, by Pinkfresh Studio, in the centre using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.

Meet "Acoustic Waves".

I love this stencil with its cool look. It is acoustic waves, but I used it like waves, using Blueprint oxide ink, and a few pearls.

I die cut the stenciled piece using a Penny Black die, glued to the Neenah cardbase and stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.

This is "Ride the Wave".

Again this stencil has such a great look. I stenciled using Prize Ribbon and Faded Jeans. To the top of the waves I added white watercolour. Once the stenciling was complete I splattered with water.

When finished with the stencil I added the piece to a Neenah 5.5 inch card base, then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle.

Introducing "Square Frames".

This was a fun card to do with all the squares. For colour I used Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord and Wilted Violet.

I glued it in place on my Neenah card base, and die cut two squares, blended with the Dusty Concord and Wilted Violet. I also die cut the "Hi" in white and attached it to the squares on my card front.

Meet "Sound Waves".

So fun, love this stencil. It is Sound Waves, but nothing wrong with sound waves done in rainbow colours in my humble opinion!

I attached the Neenah sound wave panel to my Gina K Design card base using Art Glitter glue. I then stamped, coloured with Copics, and die cut the dragonfly attaching to my card front using foam squares.

I also stamped and die cut the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Glamorous.

This is "Target Practice and Polka Dot Ball".

I love the look this card has, mixing two of today's release stencils together. For colours on Neenah cardstock I used Kitsch Flamingo and Mustard Seed and light handed Picked Raspberry.

When the stencil piece was completed I die cut the sentiment from the centre of the card and die cut two others in white. I then glued them back together, adding the stenciled piece to the top, then adhered to my card using Art Glitter glue.

Meet "Tracks".

This was another fun card to do, such a different design. I used hickory smoke distress oxide along with shaded lilac watercoloured on.

I die cut the bear and coloured him using Copic markers, then fussy cut him out and attached to the card using foam squares.

For the sentiment, from Honey Bee stamps, I stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.
