"Today is a Glorious Day".
It is bitterly cold outside, seems this bitter cold has many under wraps. But, the sun is shining and that makes for a glorious day.
This card I have done for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Today we are visiting Running with Sisters Pinterest page. I picked this as my inspiration.
The inspiration piece is in blue, but I used Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough for my card. First, using Neenah cardstock I spritzed both sides of my paper with water to relax it, then ran it through my Gemini Jr. twice to ensure a good emboss.
For colour I sponged on Cracked Pistachio, using my mini tool with a domed blending brush. Once I was done with the ink blending I painted on Kuretake Gansai Starry watercolours, using the gold to the swirl portions of the embossing folder.
I waited for the first coat to dry, then added a light second coat. It dries quickly as I was not using a lot of water, being I am on doing this on cardstock.
Using Neenah 110lb cardstock for my card base, I sponged on Evergreen Bough to the front of my card base. I then sponged on the Evergreen Bough around the edges of my embossed piece, and glued it in place to my card front.
On a separate piece of card I sponged on more of the Evergreen Bough. I did enough to allow for the 3 layers of my sentiment to be die cut.
On the extra Evergreen Bough cardstock piece I applied powder and stamped using VersaMark embossing ink my sentiment, then added the gold embossing powder to heat emboss.
I glued the pieces together and attached to the card front, then added a few Studio Katia gems in gold. They are so pretty.
