This is "Heart Day".
The idea for this card came to me in the middle of the night! Honestly, it woke me up and yes, I do ask why it could not wait until morning.
Don't we all want to celebrate Valentine's Day in a forest somewhere with hearts hanging from the tree limbs?
To start this card I am using Hammermill cardstock for my front panel, which is attached to a Gina K. Design card base in Passionate Pink.
For the trees I am using Honey Bee Layering Birch tree stencils along with distress oxide inks in Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Lumberjack Plaid and Aged Mahogany.
I then added the hearts using the Photoplay Hearts stencil and the Kitsch Flamingo distress oxide ink, then in my Misti I stamped the sentiment using Catherine Pooler ink in Cranberry Fizz.
For a bit of sparkle I made a mixture of Pink Perfect Pearls and water and using a paint brush splattered the card.
For further sparkle I added sequins in a couple different colour of pinks and added Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal drops inside the sequins.
The sentiment is from Penny Black, and I had to do a bit of surgery, masking off areas before stamping so it would say what I wanted.
I am happy with the way it turned out, something a little different and certainly fun to make. Inside I also stenciled a few of the birch trees using only two colours of ink along with a sentiment again stamped with the Catherine Pooler ink.
I hope you have enjoyed this card, and wish to thank you for joining me today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I have used for this card, at no extra cost to you at all.
