Trellis of Flowers

This is "Trellis of Flowers".

I admit, this took me longer than I anticipated, but the process was a nice change at the same time. It is fun to arrange die cuts, especially with a background trellis.
First, I die cut all the pieces using Ranger watercolour paper. I also ran the embossing folder through my Gemini Jr. and was happy with the outcome.

For colouring I got out my mini distress inks and picked the colours I wanted to use and put down those colours on my glass craft mat, added a brush of water to each and dragged the pieces through, or when necessary painted some.
Once all the flowers were done I painted the trellis using Scattered Straw distress ink. I used more colour in some areas, as I wanted the trellis to reflect different colourations. I then attached it to my Neenah card base using foam tape.

I styled the flowers and arranged them against the trellis, and when happy with the arrangement I attached the flowers to the trellis using thin foam squares.
I added in the leaves to the flowers. There are a couple where you attach the leaf arrangement to the flower as part of the finished flower.

For my sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Tulip Red I then stamped the sentiment on a narrow piece of Neenah card. I then sponged on some Scattered Straw so it did not stand out like a sore thumb!
Seeing as it took longer than I thought, I had not finished the inside, but will go back to it and using the same card from Ranger I will  again paint the piece and attach it to the inside and stamp a sentiment.

I have just looked and the embossing folder is sold out everywhere it seems. I have found Scrapbook.com is very good about fullfilling when you ask to be notified when it is back in stock, so if you want the folder be sure to try them.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card.

  1. Love all the layers to the flowers, Kia. It was a lot of work but definitely worth it in the end.
