This is "Coneflower Watercolour" which I have done for the Watercolour Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. Our challenge this week included a visit to Paintinghyun showing us these Coneflowers.
I painted using slightly different colours, using Daniel Smith colours in Transparent Pyrrol Orange mixed with Quinacridone Pink, Quinacridone Burnt Scarlet, Burnt Umber and Green Apatite Genuine. I did the background using Amazonite Genuine.
I tried to get variations of colour on each of the Coneflowers to add further interest. When done with my painting I added white splatters using Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleedproof White watercolour.
I also added highlights to the flower petals using the bleedproof white watercolour.
I love the abstract look of these Coneflowers, my favourite way to paint. I hope you enjoy this painting, and if interested maybe you will give it a go. But be aware, once you start, you soon become addicted!
See you next time.
