This is "Baby Duck".
This watercolour I did for today's Watercolour Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. Our hostess is Angela and she has asked that we paint an scene that is partially underwater. You can view the video here.
I saw this baby duck while searching for birds in water. It did not have a watermark, so I decided to give it a try. Then later found a video using this duck. Darn it all anyway.
But one thing can be said, my duck looks nothing like the beautiful one I saw, so I am using it! I water coloured using Daniel Smith water colours and a Schmincke water colour.
The background is a few layers of Sap Green. For the Duck I used Hansa Yellow which I watered down a bit. The waterline is done using Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleedproof White water colour and a clear Sakura Glaze pen, along with the Sap Green water colour.
For the Palmate I used a very watered down Sap Green along with Daniel Smith Indian Yellow and Schmincke Transparent Orange. I did the webbing using a silver gel pen.
I added touches of Rose Madder and watered down Transparent Orange, and a bit of Payne's Grey. Next time I try a baby duck I need to practice before doing the painting!
Thank you for dropping by today.
See you next time.
