It is May 1st, and that means it is time for a new release from A Colorful Life Design, and that is a YAY!
You will find this is another great release with stencils and a stamp set! Alas, let me share with you the cards I made for this release, along with links to the rest of the cards made.
Up first is my favourite card using "Layered Square Mandela" a 3 piece stencil set. Most of you know how much I love colour, and there is a lot of colour on this card. For the stenciling I used Kitsch Flamingo, Carved Pumpkin and Squeezed Lemonade.
I then stamped the Caffeinated Cat by The Rabbit Hole Designs using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and proceeded to colouring using Copic markers. Cat is E17, E15, E13; Nose is E39; Eyes are B01; Housecoat is YR09, YR07 and the mug is RV02, RV25, and RV29.
The sentiment is stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa.
Here I am using Air Jaunt and Classic Travel stencils, along with the sentiment from the Happy Thoughts stamp set.
For the planes I used Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink, the Earth is done using Salty Ocean, along with the front part of the plane and the dots, and the sentiment is stamped using Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide.
My background for the stenciling is from 49 and Market Strawberry Lemonade Frame set, which I attached to a Gina K Design card stock in Blue Raspberry. On the dots following the plane I added Nuvo Glitter drops in Silver Crystals.
This is "Layered Solar System".
I adore this stencil! It was speaking to me saying give me some colour, which I did. I was inspired by the pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope, they are mind blowing!
There are 3 stencils to this set, giving a lot of detail. To prepare the stencil I sprayed it with Pixie Spray as it is a delicate design. My colours are Distress Oxide inks in Wilted Violet, Squeezed Lemonade, Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar, along with Pinkfresh Inks in Clementine, Sweet Mustard, Blue Jay and Stargazer.
I also used a Copic Marker V17 around the planets. I then splattered with Kuretake Gem Watercolours in Blue, Gold and Purple and White Gold. I also added Nuvo Shimmer Glitter gloss over the Rocket parts.
I attached the stencil piece to a Gina K Design card base in Wild Lilac and stamped the sentiment from Concord and 9th Out of this World stamp set using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. And yes, I did not wait for it to dry - me bad!
This stencil is called Astral Swirl, another beautiful stencil.
I decided it was calling out to my Recollections Glitter Paste in Blue, and I think it looks awesome. There is always something beautiful that happens when you combine blue with glitter! I applied the paste to a Neenah cardbase.
I allowed the paste to dry overnight, then die cut the shadow Paper Rose die background using Vellum, then die cut the sentiment from Gold card card stock x 3. I attached the Vellum using glue, then glued the "hey" pieces together and attached to the Vellum shadow.
I don't think anything else was needed for this card, I liked the simple, yet not simple card as it was.
On this card I have used two stencils, being Layered Wavy Lines and Pointed, along with a sentiment from the Happy Thoughts stamp set.
The card base is Neenah and the colours for the wavy lines are Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron, and for the Pointed stencil Rustic Wilderness.
The sentiment is stamped using Evergreen from Pinkfresh Inks and the card is finished with Pinkfresh Glitter Drops in Enchanted Forest.
On a Neenah 110lb. card base I applied Opaque Texture Paste and allowed it to dry overnight.
For my stencil work I use brushes to apply the inks. I use domed foam for my regular ink blending. This card has Cracked Pistachio and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks.
Once all was dry I attached the sentiment, which is from Pinkfresh Studio Spring Vibes Ephemera Pack using foam strips, finishing with Studio Katia Gold gems.
