Hello to you! It is Watercolour Wednesday and today we have viewed a challenge put forth by Linda, who picked this video for her challenge.
I made two cards detailing today's watercolour. First, I am working on Arches cold press watercolour paper 140 lb. For matting of my paintings I used Gina K Design card stock for the green, and Recollections card stock for the water scene.
To paint the Lotus I am using a #8 Escoda paint brush. I mixed the Magenta colour using Ultramarine Blue and Quinacridone Red. As the artist mentioned for the green's I mixed together Sap Green and Olive. And for the flower centre I added in some Yellow Ochre.
For this scene I am using a #10 Escoda paint brush, along with Arches cold press watercolour paper. I combined two of the paintings into this scene. For the water I used Ultramarine Blue, Sap Green, Turquoise and Prussian Blue.
For the rocks I used Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Payne's Grey and Yellow Ochre.
I need to practice these techniques as I am sure I will find them useful in the future.I enjoyed this challenge a lot, thanks so much Linda.
I hope you all have enjoyed these paintings as well.
See you next time.
