Meet "Oh Canada".
Today we are 156 years old. Canada's age is calculated since our Confederation in 1867. But if you want to get technical about it, Canada is actually some 75 Million years old! But for today we will stick with the current birthday.
It is a special day for Canada, being our birthday, and I wanted to use this adorable image from AALL and Create.
First up was to stamp my image in my mini Misti using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I then stamped the flag using Memento Ink in Rhubarb Stalk.
I proceeded to colour the Mountie using Copic markers: Face E40 and E41; Hair E39; Red Serge is R27; Belt, Stetson trim, Pouch, Congress Boots are E59; Eyes B00; E34 on the Stetson and B99 for the Banana Pants.
To finish off the Mountie using gel pens I added the white accents, the gold buttons and buckle, along with the red stripe down the outside edge of the Mountie's uniform.
For the background I applied Barn Door distress oxide ink to the Stampers Anonymous "Brush Mark" stencil. I am using Hammermill cardstock for this application, with Neenah cardstock for my card base.
I cut the panel to be 3 inches wide by 5.5 inches tall, and trimmed it with navy cardstock on the left side, then affixed it to my card base, then attached the Mountie using foam squares. With my R27 Copic marker I went around the edges of the flag before attaching it to the card, again using foam squares.
To finish the details I added a shadow under her feet using Copic C3 and in my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Medieval Blue.
Another fun card for today. I hope you enjoy her as well and I thank you for visiting with me.
See you next time.
