Let me introduce you to "Puddleduck". This painting is for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com which I am hosting this week.
I picked this duck as my challenge for this week. The original is painted by Diane Antone Studios and is called "Jemima Puddleduck".
I am using Arches cold press watercolour paper, size 6.25x5. To paint I am using Daniel Smith and Winsor Newton watercolours. The Daniel Smith colours are Cerulean Blue Chromium, Transparent Pyrrol Orange, Quiacridone Burnt Scarlet, Quinacridone Burnt Orange and Winsor Newton Violet Dioxazine.
I drew in the eye and the nare using a Micron black fine point pen. Using the same pen I added details to the shank and webbing.
To ground the painting I used the Winsor Newton Violet Dioxazine.
To finish up using my Escoda size 4 brush I added small splatters in the Cerulean Blue Chromium around the bottom parts of the painting.
Thanks so much for dropping by today.
See you next time.
