Hello all! Welcome to Scrap'n Stamps Designers Choice blog hop. Today we are celebrating by using our choice of product.
And we have this product by Prism Studio on sale presently - a great deal at 25% off.
Raya has a lot of the products in stock already, and you can find the details of everything here. I can attest to the glitter paper - I love it, it is beautiful cardstock and does not shed, plus there are many colours.
Scrap'n Stamp will have a random winner from today's hop whom will receive a $50.00 gift card from the Scrap'n Stamp Store.
Now to the card I made for today.
This is Layering Canada Jay by Prism Studios, and also Canada's National Bird. I die cut the pieces using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper, and painted the pieces using Daniel Smith watercolours.
The Canada Jay is for the most part a grey coloured bird, with dark and light colours among its feathers. But I also see a hint of blue in the mix of colours and painted my bird accordingly.
Using Hammermill cardstock I did a smooshed background with Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness distress inks. I then stamped the branches from a old stamp set using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.
I attached the piece to my Neenah cardbase using Art Glitter glue then attached my bird to the card front using foam squares.
The sentiment is also from an older stamp set by Gina K Designs. I normally keep my favourite stamp sets from the past exactly for this reason, one never knows when they need the perfect sentiment.
I added a bit more texture by adding in Nuvo Jewel Drops in Key Lime and Sea Breeze.
I finished by adding Majestic Sequins using my new Pick and Place tool. I have this kind of tool by another company, but this has become my go to. The pick up tip is perfect for this kind of tool and the other end is a die pick.
Thank you so much for joining me today. Please join in with our hop and comment on each one of the designers blogs, whose links follow. You will want to be sure to add your comments as I have a giveaway to share with one lucky winner.
