Meet "Joy to the World".
Hello all - I hope you are having a great day. I got up early this morning to do this card, but it did not make any difference to my time. It is still almost mid day before I get to post it. hmm!
I wanted to paint an abstract Christmas card today, but I also wanted to use a stamp for this. I dare say I do not have a lot of Christmas Trees, but I love the ones I have. This tree is from Honey Bee Stamps.
In my mini Misti I place the stamp in the centre part of the door. I then added Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper and using my various watercolours I began to add the colours to the stamp.
My paints for this project are Winsor Newton Professional and Schmincke watercolours in colours of Greens, Cobalt Turquoise, Cerulean Blue, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red Deep, along with Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleedproof White mixed with Daniel Smith's Opera Pink.
I also added splatters of the Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleedproof White watercolour.
I pulled out some of the branches with my paintbrush, and left others as they are on the stamp. I felt the card needed a tree trunk, so I painted one in using Winsor Newton Sepia and Burnt Umber.
When all was dry I attached the card panel to my card base of Gina K Designs in Sea Glass using Art Glitter glue.
To finish my card I added Pinkfresh Gems in Ballet Slipper and the Christmas sentiment which is from Spellbinders and heat foiled using red foil.
I am pleased with how it looks. I do love playing with this style of watercolour, and I hope you have enjoyed it as well.
See you next time.
Very pretty. I wish I were looking over your shoulder while you created that, haha.
