A Colorful Life Designs

Happy New Year to all!

Welcome to A Colorful Life Designs January 2024 release. We have some gorgeous Valentine stencils to share, along with a few others. I am sure you are going to "love" this release!

Up first is Big Love stencil which I did using distress oxide inks in Shaded Lilac, Seeless Preserves, Wilted Violet and Villainous. I also added in a stamped "Heart" from a separate stamp set I have and stamped it using the Wilted Violet.
This is the inside of the "Big Love" card where I used the same colours on the heart flowers. My card base is Neenah and both of the top panels are Hammermill.

For this card I am using "Heart Path" and "Without You" stencils. My colours are Lumberjack Plaid used on the Without You stencil, along with Festive Berries and Worn Lipstick used for the Heart Path stencil.

If I have not mentioned this before I finish the inside of my cards. There are situations when time does not allow it, but before they are sent out the inside is always finished, and this card is no exception.

I used the Heart Path stencil inside the card as well, and finished with stamping a sentiment by Penny Black Kissed and Wishes set using VersaFine Clair ink in Glamorous.
This is a Clean and Simple design where I used 2 stencils called Blowing Wishes #1 and #3. The #1  stencil is the hand, which is did using Solar Paste Cross My Heart.

On stencil #3 I used Picket Fence Paper Glaze in Ombre. Once again, the card base is Neenah and on the inside of the card I used a piece of Hammermill cardstock to the greeting and more of the Blowing Wishes stars.
This stencil is such a beautiful one and is very delicate. Given that I used Pixie Spray on the back of the "Fancy Doily" stencil so it would secure to the cardstock, which is Hammermill, and allow for the colouring.

I also am using the Happy Valentine stencil which I stenciled on to a thin piece of Neenah cardstock using Abandoned Coral and attached to the card using foam strips.

My colours are Kitsch Flamingo, Abandoned Coral and Ages Mahogany distress oxide inks.
For this card I am using watercolour paper, the top layer being Arches cold press with the card layer being Fabriano hot press.

Using my watercolours I painted with the Birds stencil, letting the colours mix. The Feathers stencil layer is done using Merry Mint Mica stain, which I added to a small cup and applied like watercolour to the card front.
Once dry I trimmed the Feathers stencil which gave me enough to do the inside of the card, which shows above. I attached the Bird stencil to the card using foam tape.

I would like to get some stamps for "bird talk" sentiments. That would be so cute.
This is "Smitten Pair" along with "Blowing Wishes", Again, my card base is Neenah and my top pieces are Hammermill cardstock.

I love this stencil in particular, it is terribly sweet. I used distress oxide inks in Kitsch Flamingo blending toward the couple and finished around the couple with Picked Raspberry. I stamped the Blowing Wishes using the Kitsch Flamingo ink.

To finish I stamped the sentiment with the Kitsch Flamingo ink and added it to my card front using foam squares.
I am also loving on this fantastic "Dramatic Blooms" stencil. I really wanted colour to match the drama of the stencil so I picked Ripe Persimmon and Squeezed Lemonade distress oxide inks.

For the inside I flipped the stencil upside down on a piece of the Hammermill cardstock, and rubbed the stencil to help in the transfer of the inks.
To finish the inside piece I lightly dusted the stencil card piece using the Ripe Persimmon in light doses on the petals. It is very pretty in real life!
Up next is "Jagged Love", another stencil that I love. I kept this card Clean and Simple, stenciling on my Neenah card base. For the inside I added a piece of Hammermill cardstock where I applied the sentiment and colour piece.

My colours for this card are Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Villanous Potion, three colours that I love together.
It is after dark and I have just taken this picture, so the lighting is not the best, but I did think you might enjoy seeing the inside done using the colours applied on a piece of Neenah 1/2 inch card I mentioned.
This is Lacy Edge stencil, which is a large stencil covering both side of my A2 card. For colour I used distress inks in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Villinous Potion.
Used as a single stencil on a Neenah card front it has a beautiful look, again using the distress ink colours as I mentioned above.
On the inside I again turned the stencil over and rubbed along the stencil to transfer the inks. I was a bit lighter than I would have liked at the top, but I still think the pattern adds to the inside, which is waiting for a sentiment.
I also love this stencil called "Layered Mixed Flower" stencil. So beautiful with so many possibilities. I used many of my favourite colours of distress oxide inks to colour this card, being Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Saltwater Taffy, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Rustic Wilderness.

In the flower centre's that were coloured using the Rustic Wilderness I added Nuvo Midas Touch, which gives a lovely sparkle.

To the 1/2 inch border I applied a thick layer of the Rustic Wilderness distress oxide ink and glued it in place. I then stamped the sentiment from Say It With Stamps using VersaFine Clair Ink in Green Oasis.
For my last card I am using "Boho Wheel" stencil along with Happy Thoughts stamp set by A Colorful Life Designs.

This stencil felt like a Squeezed Lemonade and Mowed Lawn kind of card, two colours which I love together. The card is Clean and Simple with just the ink and stamping and is 5.5 inches square.

I do hope you have enjoyed the cards above. I love playing with these beautiful stencils and I love to share them with you.
