New Day

 

This is "New Day".

This is a stamp set by Alex Syberia which is called Midnight Love, and I absolutely love it. It also has coordinating dies. I have used the smaller flower previously in a CAS design. Today, there is a bit more added to my card.

Using Tombow markers I first coloured the flowers using red and green markers. I then went about adding water colour using Daniel Smith water colours in Alizarin Crimson and Pyrrol Scarlett on the flower.

For the greens I used Lemon Yellow, Green Apatite and Sap Green. Around the leaves I also added Manganese Blue.

I should say that I am using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper to paint on and my Escoda fine brushes allowing me to do the details.

Once I finished the water colour I added splatters using both of the red water colours and trimmed up my piece to fit a 5.5 square card, where I am using Gina K Designs Red Velvet.

I then stamped the sentiment on a piece of red velvet cardstock and heat embossed with Brutus Monroe  embossing powder in Pearl.

I then attached the painted piece to my Gina K Designs Red Velvet card base using Art Glitter glue and attached the sentiment using foam squares.

I have to say, there is a lot of detail in my painting, so it took me longer than I thought it would. I was hoping to post this yesterday, alas the time got away from me, so we have it today instead.
