Meet "Perfectly Paired". My card for the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. This week we were asked to visit the Pinterest pages of "Polly P" who is also a member of Splitcoaststampers where she is known as "peeps321".
My inspiration came from this floral image under Polly's "Card Ideas" board, which I was so taken with.
It may appear that I cased the card, but I made several changes, which I will note for you. First, I added layers to the card, being the background which uses Penny Black's Script stamp on Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper along with Altenew ink in Silver Stone. I also used different stamp sets from the original.
I then did a second layer, also using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper, where I stamped the floral using Altenew's Perfectly Perfect stamp set.
Continuing with the stamp I masked off the flower and started stamping using Best Buds "leaves" stamps along with paper masking pieces to protect the leaves as I went along with the stamping. I then watercoloured the flower and leaves using Daniel Smith watercolours.
When the piece was dry I fussy cut it then attached it to my background piece using Art Glitter glue.
I wanted a deeper colour around the top edges of the card so I brushed on Peacock Feathers distress oxide inks. I then added big splatters using Daniel Smith Rose of Ultramarine watercolour.
To finish up I attached the watercoloured backgrounds to a Gina K Designs cardbase in Tranquil Teal. I am not sure what I will be doing for the inside, so for now I have simply attached a piece of Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper.
Thank you for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card.
See you next time.
