Birds and Branches

 

This is "Bird and Branches".

This card I made for the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. Julie is our hostess today and she has asked that we visit On Sutton Place, which also has a Pinterest site.

My inspiration came from this pillow. When designing my card I decided I did not want a plain cover so I added a gingham stamp to my design. For my cardbase I am using Gina K Designs Chocolate Truffle, with a layer of Gina K Designs Kraft card. 

For the top layer I used a gingham stamp from Right At Home along with VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone.

I die cut three each of the Impression Obsession birds with 2 layers in the brown cardstock and the top layer using the Kraft. For the Impression Obsession branch I die cut 3 from the chocolate card and glued them together which will create dimension on the card. 

I glued the branch to the card front then attached the birds using foam rounds.

Once I finished with the card front I moved to the design inside my card where I again used the gingham stamp along with  Kraft cardstock.

I also stamped the sentiment on Kraft card using the Pinecone ink and die cut another one of the birds, attaching it with a thin foam square.

 This was such a change for me, and I did enjoy making it. I don't think I have ever used browns and tans as I have here.
