Meet "Make My Day".
This pot of blooms by Penny Black called "New Day" is just what I was in the mood to paint today. So I got out my Daniel Smith watercolours and away I went. It was so relaxing to do!
First I stamped the image using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne on Arches cold press watercolour paper. I then started with the leaves which I wanted dark so the flowers would pop against the colour.
I used Cascade Green for this, and added in some Sap Green.
I then turned my attention to the flowers using Quinacridone Gold along with Hansa Yellow on the Daffodils. For the leaf sprigs I used Organic Vermillion.
On the Tulips I used Hansal Yellow and Transparent Pyrrol Orange. The watering can is done using Kuretake Red Gold and the grounding is Neutral Tint.
The sentiments are from the Brighter Days Gerbera Daisy set by Picket Fence Studios, which I stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne, and for the front of the card I used the coordinating die cut.
To finish up I went around the card edges with 110 Copic black marker.
In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment on the inside using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.
I do hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it.
Thanks so much for dropping by.
See you next time.
