Meet the "Love Birds".
I was smitten when I saw this set from Honey Bee, being the Love Birds and the Bird cage and could not wait to add it to my collection of bird "things" and make it!
I did have to wait, the bird cage took a few side steps on its way to my place, but we have it! And I have to say, while this is a fair amount of work, it was the most fun to put together.
Again, for the birds it was following the pictures that are included when you purchase them, and away you go. I kept my colours pretty close to an acutal Love Bird, which I normally do when I make my first card.
I used matte metallic silver for the bird cage, and gold metallic for the door and swing. Once the cage was completely put together I added the Love Birds to the mix using foam squares on everything!
For the birds I used Pinkfresh Inks in Meadow, Emerald City and Evergreen along with Lemon Whip to colour, using my Prism mini blending brushes.
As the set did not come with any sentiments I went to an older set with sentiments I love by Gina K Designs called Snow Birds and used them on the front and inside the card stamping with Pinkfresh Meadow Ink.
I used Copic markers to colour the heads of the birds, being YR21, YR07 and R29. In my Platinum machine I embossed two pieces of card using Organic Linen for the front and inside of my card.
Using my brayer I added Meadow ink to both of the pieces and let dry. I then added the swing in metallic gold with a white centre for the sentiment, stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Green Oasis.
I do hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it.
Thanks so much for visiting today.
See you next time.
