Meet "Dashing Reindeer".
I made this card today for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. My inspiration came from this reindeer. I am using Neenah cardstock for this card.
This is my first purchase from the Betterpress line of dies called Dashing Reindeer. As I have not bought any of the Betterpress inks I used distress inks for colour, using Tea Dye, Gathered Twigs and Candied Apple..
My humble opinion is they work perfectly with the letterpress sytem and for now I will use what I have by way of inks, being the distress inks, distress oxide inks, Pinkfresh inks, Make Art inks and Ranger Archival inks. I am out of room!
For my background I used a very old embossing folder, as I wanted snow coming down. This is a Sizzix embossing folder which I always loved, so I got it out to use today.
My colours are Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Broken China. I attached the reindeer and sentiment using foam squares, then added white splatters to the card.
For the inside of my card I prepared a second piece as I did for the front, and embossed the piece again using the Sizzix embossing folder.
I have not added the sentiment as I ordered a new stamp and die set to use for the inside, as seen here.
I added the set I bought to give you an idea of what I would be using. It is by Hero Arts and called Joyful Chrismtas Messages. I need a few new sentiments for Christmas this year.
Thanks so much for your visit today.
See you next time.
