Girl Under Umbrella

This is "Girl Under Umbrella", which is our Watercolour Challenge today at Splitcoaststampers.com. My arches are darker than I would have liked but that is okay.

For her umbrella I used Daniel Smith Permanent Red, which I kept on the lighter side by adding more water to the mixture. I used the same colour with a bit of phthalo blue mixed in to emphasize the ribs.

On the top of the umbrella I lifted the red for highlights. I also splattered with the red and payne's grey which I kept dark.

As shown in the video I painted the outside trees much darker than the interior trees, however as I said previously I wish they were lighter still.

It was a fun and relatively easy painting to do. Oh, I failed to mention that I came across a piece of Tim Holtz watercolour card, so I used it for this painting.

Thank you for visiting today.

See you next time.
