Joys of Christmas

This is "Joys of Christmas".

For me there is nothing that says "Christmas" more than the Poinsettia and this card has plenty to go around. I used watercolours to paint this image today.

This Poinsettia Frame is a unique card in that the coordinating die to the stamp set cuts the design out in great detail, which for me shows off the individual flowers and leaves beautifully.

My choice of watercolour colours are Permanent Rose, Sap Green, Cadmium Red Deep and Hookers Green Light along with Cadmium Hue Yellow mixed with Yellow Ochre for the flower centres.

The sentiment is stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Tulip Red and is propped up on foam strips, whereas the flowers are glued to the background paper, then glued to the card front using Art Glitter glue.

The paper used on the front and inside of the card are from Lawn Fawn "Snowflakes", which is from last year.

For the most part when painting the cherries I did leave white areas for highlights, but I did miss a few. And the flower centres have a mix of colour as noted above.

And I see I missed a branch with a few berries hanging down. See if you see it!

This paper is also from the "Snowflakes" book done in the pinks. I added the Merry Christmas sentiment with a vellum underlay to finish the inside.

Thanks so much for visiting with me today. I am sorry I have been missing in action. We all know how life gets in the way every so often.

See you next time.
