Hearts Day

 

This is "Hearts Day".

It is by Penny Black and is one in a series of four pictures included in the pack of pictures. They are so cute I could not resist.

This card is 4.25 square. I have fallen madly for this size of card, they are so fun to make. I die cut the picture by Penny Black using Spellbinders Mirrored Arched Labels.

I then die cut a piece of Tranquil Teal cardstock in the next size up to frame the picture. My cardbase is done using Sea Glass cardstock.

These pictures by Penny Black come in size 3.25 x 4.5, so they are a nice size to make an easy card with a bit of coordinating cardstock.

For my choice of colours I picked up on the background colour from the scene, which is also used as shading around the tree and the hedgehog.

There are several colours in the scene which can be used for this purpose. I think the lime green colour would be nice as well.

I die cut a piece of the Tranquil Teal using the same die as above for the inside of the card. I then stamped the sentiment using Bee Creative pigment ink.

When using this ink be sure to give it enough time to dry before disturbing the area, or closing your card.
