Winter Wishes

This card I made for Art Nudge #105 hosted by Jeanne Streiff.  The study was a picture of some beautiful birds, and you all know how I love me some birds.

I picked a Penny Black stamp to use today called Nature's Call. I think I captured all the colours from the art board, including the blue, which is tucked in with the wings.

I first painted the background colours on my 4.75" card applying in a loose fashion. I then stamped the bird image using my Misti, then I drew in the branch. For my watercolouring I used Daniel Smith watercolours.

I painted the branch using a mix of Burnt Umber and Sepia and added a few branch pieces for more interest.

I then painted the bird capturing all the colors given on the Art Board #105. Yes, there is blue in there, tucked above the purple.

I have to say, I truly enjoyed painting this little fellow, the colours made it so fun.

I made this into a 4.75 inch square card and chopped the corners on opposite sides for further interest, then glued using Art Glitter glue the panel in place.

Finishing with the sentiment from the same set stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne.

Thank you for joining me today. You can find the ART NUDGE challenge here.
