This is my card sample for the CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week. Seeing as it is St. Patrick’s Day, our hostess Lee has asked for cards about luck. I feel we are lucky to have our good friends, so I based my card on that.
For this card I am testing some water colour paper I received with my recent order from Jackson’s Art Supplies in the U.K. called Stonehenge. It is a 300lb. cold press paper, and feels wonderful.
I printed and traced the Shamrock leaf on to some masking paper, cutting it out and attached it to the paper. I then added Color Burst in Lime Green and Chartreuse, keeping it close to the leaf.
Once the colour was complete I dried the paper with my heat gun then die cut the panel using my Penny Black die. I used my Gemini with the metal plate for this task and did 2 passes and the cut was very clean. In my mini Misti I then stamped my sentiment, which is from Frantic Stamper using Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black.
To finish I did some splattering, first covering the Shamrock, but then I changed my mind and splattered on the leaf as well. To keep the card light I attached my panel to a yellow card base.
Here is the video showing my process on this card.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and thank you for visiting.
