This is Hello, Beautiful. My sample card for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.
In our design team notes it said “no colouring” , which I decided to take as no physical colouring , but other forms of colour, yes. I decided my colour would be embossing powder.
I embossed the background of a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of card stock using a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, along with embossing paste. I then die cut the stem and covered it in VersaMark embossing ink and heat embossed with embossing powder from Lindy’s Gang.
I die cut the embossed panel using my Penny Black die, trimmed the leftover to 4.x 5.25, then covered with versamark and heat embossed with the same colour. I put the pieces together, splattered some gold paint and attached to my card base.
I then attached the stems using foam squares which I cut in half and finished with a gold embossed sentiment, also attached using foam squares.
For the inside of my card I die cut the panel again using the Penny Black die, then using the same stencil as I used on the front of the card, I brushed on a light dusting of the embossing powder used called Sassy Sapphire, then gently rubbed it in through the negative parts of the stencil. As you can see, it stains the paper slightly, which is exactly the look I wanted.
I then heat embossed the hugs die with the Sassy Sapphire, and stamped and heat embossed in gold the tiny flower from the Altenew set I used on the front of the card, and glued on the hugs die.
