I am over on the Scrap’n Stamp blog today with this card. I knew I wanted to use this stamp set, and had this background floating around in my mind as my design background. It turned out perfectly, which of course is always a treat.
Using Distress Oxide inks I layed down Pickled Raspberry, Spiced Marmalada, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers on my craft mat, spritzed with water and added my water colour paper, turning it slightly left to right to get the inks to mix slightly.
For backgrounds such as this I like to let these dry naturally as I feel the heat gun deadens the vibrancy of the colours. Once it was dry I heavily spritzed the piece with my Perfect Pearl solution, and watched the magic happen. It is subtle, but the way the colours meld together is even more beautiful. When this was dry I splattered with Gold ink.
From paper I made two pieces to lay over the areas where I would have the white card stock and in my mini MISTI stamped the butterflies using VersaFine Claire Nocturne Ink. It cleans off perfectly, so it was easy to move the butterfly as I stamped.
I then die cut the panels using a landscape die along with whisper white card stock. and attached to opposite corners of my card using a foam square on the butterfly side, then added the Nuvo Jewel and Crystal drops. On the lower right side I stamped the sentiment with the Nocturne Ink.
I hope you have enjoyed todays card. Following are links to the products I used at no cost to you.
