Flirty Flamingo is strutting her stuff!
A different kind of card for me to share with you today which I am also sharing over on the Technique Junkies and My Sweet Petunia blogs.
I thought this Flamingo deserved some special treatment so I fancied up her surroundings. For my background, using Arches 140lb Cold Press watercolour paper I used Paper Artsy Infusions in Emerald Isle, Frankly Scarlet and Lemoncello. For the Flamingo panel I used the Lemoncello and lightened it up a bit by adding Daniel Smith Cadmium Yellow.
Using my Cut-Align large ruler I cut the largest panel into 3/8″ pieces using the centre cut line and the squares on the ruler to measure as I went along. I wanted the design to be in the corners of the card, so I did three (3) rows along the sides and two (2) rows along the top and bottom, weaving them in place, then putting something heavy on them until I started gluing everything in place.
For the Flamingo I stamped using Metallic Copper ink and heat embossed using Nuvo Copper Blush embossing powder. I then sponged around the edges with the Copper Metallic ink, attaching the piece to fun foam, then to my card base. I then went over the Flamingo with Midas Touch Nuvo Aqua Shimmer and added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Autumn Red and Copper Penny.
This card makes me smile with the beautiful colours and the unexpected design. I enjoy changing it up a bit from time to time.
