Sending Loving Wishes your way.
I did this card for the inspiration challenge at Splitcoaststampers today. We visited a home renovation site called Hometalk where there is a lot of inspiration. I loved the look of the stenciling here and based my card on this.
Masking off the panel with one of the stencils, I did a light watercolour wash, then using the patterned stencil and using my brush I pounced Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron and Mustard Seed through the stencil.
I removed the stencils and set the piece aside to dry moving on to the flower. I stamped with the Poppy ink and also water coloured the Aster with the same ink, then die cut.
For the panel I die cut using a die from Penny Black, then drew the lines around the colour with a Micron Pen. I never do this sort of thing as I don’t trust myself, but today I decided to give it a go. I think it worked out okay.
To put it all together I attached the panel to a green base. Then styled and attached the Aster flower using a foam square. I stamped the Wishes sentiment using with VersaFine ink, and stamped the Loving using the Poppy first then drew over it with the Micron pen so the red still showed.
To finish I did some splatters with my watercolour palette.
