Meet Perfectly Perfect You.
I was teaching a class this past Wednesday and we were using Distress Oxide inks, which of course always inspire me. One of the ladies, who just happens to be my art teacher, used vibrant colours Wilted Violet and Carved Pumkin, and others, what a stunning background. My favourite colours are always bright happy colours, such as what I have used here today and I am sure I will try those bold colours Colleen used at some point.
My favourite Oxide colours are Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin and Twisted Citron. I love doing cards using these colours, so when I came upon this video by Kelly Latevola I had to play.
I did the framing within the frame, marking out the layout before starting, which gave me an idea of where to put my colours. Using Fabriano hot press watercolour paper I added a lot of water to the area where I wanted the colour, and dropped in the colours from little puddles I had made.
I then stamped the flowers starting first with the centre flower, then masking and stamping the other petals. I drew in the stems as there are not stems with this set.
With the left over puddles I splattered my card panel with the colours I used, except for the twisted citron. I then trimmed my card panel, and drew in the frame line using a Micron pen. I went around the entire card with a Copic black marker as I was attaching the panel to black cardstock.
To finish up I stamped my Chirp Chirp using Distress Oxide Mustard Seed and die cut her out. When I can I love to include one of these little birds on my card. I stamped the sentiment on the black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder, then attached using foam squares.
I hope you have enjoyed this card and wish to thank Kelly for the inspiration and thank you for visiting. Following are Affiliate links for the products that I have used on this card, at no cost to you.
