This is Golden Leaf.

I love using this beautiful leaf from Concord & 9th, called Lace Leaf.

As it turns out I have time to play in the Featured Stamper at Splitcoaststampers where you pick a card from a particular persons gallery and let it inspire you. This is the card I picked.

For something a bit different I decided to do this card and bring in some acrylic paints, creating a background for my golden leaf.

On mixed media paper I applied a mixture of turquoise and black acrylic paint applying with a pastry brush as I like the texture it gives.

Once dry I applied splatters, first in black acrylic, then in gold Kuretake paint, finishing with gold acrylic metallic paint. I also splattered my card base with the gold paint and the gold metallic paint.

I die cut the acrylic panel with a Penny Black die adding fun foam to the back and attaching to the black card base.

The leaf was stamped on vellum and heat embossed with Brutus Monroe gold embossing powder. I also added touches of gold paint to the leaf representing parts of the leaf that are not skeletal.

First styling the leaf I then added it to the panel using foam squares, and to finish I glued on a few gems in diamonds and gold.

It was fun to make something different and I hope you have enjoyed this card as well.
