Poinsettia Christmas.

By this time I have usually started my Christmas cards but this is my first one I think.

I have done this card for Scrap’n Stamp using a Gina K. Design Stamp called Winter Flowers.

In my mini Misti, on Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper, I stamped the flowers using masking and Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Twisted Citron.

The twisted citron is not waterproof, so I was careful as I painted, but did not fuss should the colours meet. That would only add extra interest.

Keeping my card on the light side I used non-traditional Christmas colours, hence used only three colours to watercolour with, being the light pink, yellow and light green.

On the left side I used full strength ink and did 3 layers to get the rich green, and shadowed the flowers on the right side.

Once I finished with my watercolouring I die cut the panel using my stitched rectangle die and attached it to a pale pink card base.

I then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Glamorous and added sequins to finish. To the flowers I added touches of Midas Touch Shimmering Pen.

I hope you haved enjoyed this card and wish to thank you for visiting today. Following are Affiliate Links to the products I have used today, including Canadian and USA links, at no cost to you.
