Believe …

I am hosting the Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week, and this is the card I did for the challenge. I wanted everyone to show me some “Drama“.

To start my card, using Fabriano 140lb Hot Press watercolour paper I inked up my stamp with VersaMark Embossing ink and heat embossed using Recollections Vintage Mint Embossing Powder.

To watercolour I used Distress Inks in Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover and Abandoned Coral, taking my time and enjoying the process.

I wanted my Poinsettia to be the Star, so I lightly water coloured the background with the Cracked Pistachio and added Nuvo Aqua Pen in Mango Mimosa from the Surprise Party set which I also used on the flowers.

Once I was finished I trimmed the piece to 5.25 square. I wanted to keep as much of the Poinsettia as I could, so made this a 5.5 square card.

On my Neenah card base I brushed on a heavy amount of Lucky Clover ink around the edges, giving a matting appearance, then attached my Poinsettia piece to the card.

I then die cut three of the sentiment pieces and applied the ink direct to paper using the Lucky Clover again, and went over the sentiment with Nuvo Aqua Shimmering Pen in Midas Touch, glued them together with Nuvo adhesive and attached to my card.

To dot the (i) I used a Crystal Diamond Gem, adding to my “Drama”.

I hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Thanks so much for visiting.
