Welcome to Technique Junkies Blog Hop.

It’s October 1st and that means it is Technique Junkies October release day, and it is such a fun release.

All of October’s release are 15% off until October 8th, and you can also use my discount code for another 10%. Such a good deal. My code is TJ10Kia.

I made the cards I have above for the hop, but for a better look, they follow.

This is Christmas Rose. I decided to watercolour using my watercolour palette keeping the colours light for the rose itself and using different colours.

For a bit of drama I did the stem and leaves in black, and the background in a Sap Green, then framed with gold metallic on a black card base.

This is Reindeer Names and I did have fun with this card.

I masked off Rudolf’s image (2) and inked up the reindeer using copper ink. I then stamped Rudolf with VersaFine Clair ink in red tulip. Once the colours were done I applied VersaMark Embossing ink to the entire piece and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I attached the panel to Copper Glitter paper which is attached to my card base, then stamped the Victoria Greetings sentiment using the red ink and attaching it with foam squares to the card front.

To finish I added Nuvo Metallic Copper Penny Crystal Drops around the entire panel.

For this card I wanted to use a dark card stock, i.e. the blue, so I got out my Prismacolor Premier pencils to do the colouring.

To start this card I first stamped the Holiday Lights using Inkon3 no line ink. I then proceeded to colour the bulbs with my colour pencils using: Deco Yellow PC1011, Lt. Cerulean Blue PC904, Spring Green PC 913, Pink PC929, Scarlet Lake PC923 and a few with White PC938.

Once the colouring was finished I stamped with VersaMark Embossing Ink and heat embossed using WOW embossing powder in white twinkle.

I added the piece to red glitter cardstock, then a navy blue card base, stamping the Victorian Greeting sentiment using the VersaMark and white embossing ink.

I attached the sentiment to red glitter and attached to the card front with foam squares adding a few Nuvo Crystal Drops i the Silver Crystals.

This stamp is part of a set of 3 Christmas dogs and 2 sentiments called Feliz Naughty Dog.

I started by stamping the dog on my card base using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne and colouring with Copics. As the bow was then black I stamped another in red and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, attaching with Nuvo Adhesive.

I then added the stencil overlay to the card base, stencilling with Distress Oxide in Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers and a light touch with my brush.

Finishing up the card with the Merry Christmas sentiment stamped in VersaFine Clair in Red Tulip and a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops using Silver Crystals.

My last card today is Chris Moose. I could not resit painting him with my watercolour palette using various colours. I did keep him dark-ish, using a red brown colour mostly, but mostly painted him for the fun.

It does not show in the photo but the lights were done with glitter markers, giving them a sparkle.

Thanks for dropping by today. Up next is Lee Ann Barrett. Following the hop list are Affiliate links to the products that I have used today. Remember you have 25% off by using my discount code and the 15% discount available until October 8th.

  1. Oh, what fun! A fabulous selection of holiday cards, but of course the whimsical Chris Moose is my favourite 🙂
