Hello peeps. I am sharing a card that I did the other day using acrylic paints for my background, and the beautiful Songbird from Concord & 9th.
On the weekend I was working with my Gelli plate and acrylic paints were a part of that. I had left over paint, so on the inside of a cereal box I added the white paint, then added the other colours I had, adding a tad more white paint.
I then laid acrylic paper across the paint, which created a suction of sorts when I pulled up the paper. This is the 3rd design I pulled off, I have two others from the same paints.
When I saw it I was reminded of falling snow, so that is what I used it for.
I cut the piece down, then added Distress Oxide inks around the edges in Blueprint Sketch and Vintage Photo. To the entire piece I added more Blueprint Sketch filling in the paper parts, then went over the piece with paper towel to take off any excess.
On my Neenah card base I brushed on Distress Oxide Vintage Photo to parts of the card, then attached my panel using Sookwang (scorpal/be creative) tape.
Using Concord & 9th Songbird I stamped parts of the bird using VersaFine Clair Nocturne, and did the branches using Pinecone on Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper.
I then water coloured the bird with my watercolour palette and once completed I fussy cut the image out, attaching to my card using foam squares and Nuvo Adhesive.
On white card stock I brushed on some Blueprint Sketch then stamped and heat embossed with Vintage Gold embossing powder my sentiment and attached with foam squares.
To finish up I added Nuvo Glitter Drops in Silver.
I love how this turned out and will be doing more in the future. It is such fun to try something new. I hope you enjoy this card as well, and thank you for joining me today.
