New Neighbourhood.

It has been a very long time since I have coloured with my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils. But today the CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers is “Vertical”, and this was the perfect image for this.

This is a line drawing that I would normally use for my water colouring, but I wanted coloured pencils, so I reduced it and printed it on good photocopy paper to colour.

I use Hammermill 28lb. photocopy paper for this kind of card. Most of the time I would I would use Neenah cardstock, but I wanted a blue card base for this card, and decided to use the paper instead.

With the Hammermill paper I first attach it to 80lb card stock to give it stability, then proceed to colour.

I started by colouring the background first using light yellow and peaches. I added in some pink as I moved up, along with the blues in the corners. I masked off the area behind the Star on the tree top while colouring to highlight the Star.

Moving on I did the trees using several different shades of green and added the black Micron to the 2 larger trees.

On the round trees I used Gelly Roll pen in white to fill in the circles then added Wink of Stella in Clear. For the larger tree I used Wink of Stella in Gold.

For the houses I coloured using Beige, Browns, Peach, Pink and Black, with a yellow for the lights in the windows.

This took a long time to do, but I am happy with the results so the time was worth it.

I hope you enjoyed this card today and have Affiliate links to the products I used for today’s card below, at no extra cost to you.
