Butterfly Hugs.

I am departing from my Winter and Valentine cards today by doing this butterfly card. I had a friend here Wednesday making cards and she wanted to do something we had not done before, so I brought out my favourite butterfly stamp set for her, and we both made a card.

To start this card I die cut a piece of 100lb card stock and die cut with my Penny Black Stitched Stacker die set.

Using Memento Ink in Jet Black I then stamped the small butterfly on a piece of photocopy paper and fussy cut it out to use as my mask, then arranged where I wanted the butterflies on my card and stamped the smaller butterfly. Masking the smaller butterfly I then stamped the large one.

Using Copic markers for colouring, on the large butterfly I used Y02, Y17, and YR07. For the smaller butterfly I used YG07 and BG34. I then went over parts of the butterflies with Nuvo Midas Touch, which shows up in the close up below.

I attached the card panel to my 120lb card base, then added extra sparkle with Nuvo Crystal and Jewel Drops, along with a few sequins.

To finish the front I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Warm Breeze and attached it to the card using foam squares. Initially I wanted the sentiment on black card stock and heat embossed in white, but I did not like the look on my finished card.

I kept the inside simple, die cutting the panel with the same die and stamping the sentiment again in the warm breeze. I added a few of the butterflies from the Penny Black Snippets Stamp set using VersaFine Clair inks in yellows and oranges and the Tulip Red.

I hope you enjoy this card today, and wish to thank you for joining me.
