For my card today I knew I wanted to do something in pastel colours, which is unusual for me! But, this Wild Rose from Picket Fence Studios spoke “pastels” to me.
I am also doing this card for the Scrap’n Stamp Blog today.
For my base card I am using Gina K Designs Ivory cardstock. In my Misti I stamped the image using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne. I then replaced the card base with Tonic Studios Watercolour cardstock and again stamped the image using the Nocturne Ink.
I lined up my Stitched Rectangle die and ran it through my Gemini Jr machine before proceeding.
The Tonic paper is textured so I heat set the piece to ensure it was dry before doing the next part. Normally I would do the inking before the stamping, but I wanted to know where the flowers would be before I added my colour.
On my work space I put down some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide and spritzed with water, then dabbed my cardstock in the ink, turning as needed. I then heat set the colour and put down Worn Lipstick, spritzing with water and dabbed it in various spots of the ink. The final colour I used is the Cracked Pistachio, again doing the same technique and heat setting.
I then made a puddle of Kuretake Gansai Pearlescent in the pink and splattered the card panel with it. I love splatters of paint.
On the back and front of my inked panel I added fun foam with Scorpal/Be Creative tape, then attached it to my card base. I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair Ink in Glamorous and a scattering of sequins. I then went over the sentiment with Wink of Stella.
I love the look of the pastel colours. A fun card to make.
