Falling Branch

I did not have a plan when I started this card. I just knew I wanted to use my Wendy Vecchi Make Art inks, so I picked out three colours, being Bluebird, Garden Patina and Prickly Pear.

Using Bristol cardstock I first did the background piece, doing the smooshing technique, then dried with my heat gun. I attached the piece to another piece of 80lb. cardstock to give the panel strength, and die cut with my Penny Black Elegant Stitching Die.

I then die cut another panel from the Gina K Design Ivory cardstock using the Elegant Sitching Die in a smaller size and my Penny Black Dancing Leaves die centred inside the frame die.

Using a few of the Banner Blooms stamps and VersaMark Embossing ink I stamped around the card piece, including over the cut areas, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I then sponged on the colours in various areas of the card piece, and added a bit of Midas Shimmering Pen to the larger die cut piece, and only in the centre on the smaller die cut piece, which show up better in the picture below.

Using the leaf left from die cutting I sponged on some of the Prickly Pear, then added a bit of the Shimmering Pen to bits of the leaves and once dry I styled the leaves.

To put it all together I attached the large background to my Gina K Design Ivory card stock card base using Scorpal tape. On the back of the leaves die cut I added foam squares, using the 1/2 inch squares cutting down when necessary. I then added it to the card.

Using Nuvo Adhesive I attached the leaf die offset from the die cut, gluing in a few places to keep it secure.
