Splat!

How is that for a title? Every time I see this stencil that is what I think, but that is not the name of this beauty, it is called “Big Blot”. In any event, it is a fun stencil.

For my card today I decided to use Deco Foil for my Splat. To a piece of 100lb cardstock using the stencil I added the transfer gel and set aside to let it dry for about 30 minutes. It was tacky to the touch when I proceeded.

Of note here, the gel is very sticky at this point so be sure you are putting your foil down where you want it, as it will stay there. I straighten my stencil over top and go down holding on both sides so I won’t get any folds etc.

I placed my foiled card stock piece inside a folded piece of parchment paper and ran it through my laminator.

I did have some foil stick where there was no gel but I decided to work with it. Otherwise I use my sand eraser or electric eraser to remove it.

To put it all together using 120lb cardstock for my base I added the mirror cardstock on an angle, then added the foiled piece on the opposite angle.

I die cut my sentiment from the mirror cardstock along with two more die cuts from white cardstock, gluing them together with the silver on top then glued the sentiment to my card front to finish.

I am adding this card to the CAS February 2020 Stencil Challenge

  4. Kia, you have got to stop enabling me!! Now I really want a laminator, just so I can foil this gorgeous SPLAT! (it will always be a splat, no matter what the designer called it) 🙂

    1. Hahaha – sorry about that, but it is time for a laminator my friend. I have always called this stencil splat, I have to look at it to get the proper name!
